Dear Members,

I begin this annual message by wishing you a happy and hopefully prosperous New Year. It is particularly important for all members to feel assured that, despite a 2012 season dominated by the problems of excessive weed growth on the bottom pond, and in the opinion of fishermen and weather forecasters alike, the wettest year in recent times. Your committee will always continue to make every effort to provide good quality fishing at competitive prices in the season to come. Whilst we can only hope for better weather in 2013, the on-going effort to overcome the weed problem on the bottom pond are described later in this newsletter. Naturally, on behalf of all members, thanks are due to the 2012 committee and also to the small band of members who do so much to help with the maintenance of Ynys-y-Fro reservoirs both in and out of season. Finally, on a sad note, I have to report the passing of three previous senior officers of our Association, Mr John Jefferies, Mr Roy Morris and Mr Don Cooper. Obituaies, reflecting on their contributions to the development of fishing at Ynys-y-Fro are included in this newsletter.

I look forward to seeing many of you at our Annual Social Evening and on the banks of Ynys-y-Fro in the new season.

Tight Lines,

Adrian Connor
